«Le Piano Symphonique» Balance 2024 & Outlook 2025

Lucerne with «Le Piano Symphoniqe» is not only «home to a first-class piano festival», as the BBC Music Magazine called it, the outstanding festival of the Lucerne Symphony Orchestra also offers the opportunity to experience world-renowned artists in various pianistic roles at close quarters.

The next edition of the piano festival «Le Piano Symphonique» will take place from 13 to 18 January 2025. P

A brief look back is in order, as «Le Piano Symphoniqe» 2024 was particularly successful and touching at the same time:
– Twelve concerts at three different venues
– 10,000 visitors
– almost 90% capacity utilisation in total
– Seven concerts still available directly via Medici.tv

The piano festival «Le Piano Symphoniqe» 2025, which takes place from 13 to 18 January, once again promises a musical experience in a class of its own: in addition to Martha Argerich, who remains closely associated with the festival as «Pianiste Associée», visitors can look forward to the participation of numerous international piano stars.

Highlights 2025:
– «Shostakovich Project» with Evgeny Kissin and other renowned artists
– Martha Argerich presents Camille Saint-Saëns’ «Carnival of the Animals» twice and takes part in three other evening concerts, including the festival closing concert
– Performances by Fazıl Say, Leif Ove Andsnes, Beatrice Rana, Kiveli Dörken, HK Gruber, Kirill Gerstein and Michael Wollny
