In their collaborative projects, the percussion duo Vanessa Porter and Emil Kuyumcuyan combine virtuosity, sonic curiosity and conceptual depth to create original concert formats that go beyond the traditional concept of the classical concert, developing programmes that blend musical precision with a powerful stage presence.
The new album BETTER ME is due for release in spring 2026 on the Neos label. In this cycle, composer Emil Kuyumcuyan reflects musically on the search for self-determination, law and justice – as well as on the consequences that follow. The boundaries between improvisation, performance, electronics and percussion are deliberately fluid. The work combines percussion with electronic and multimedia elements – based exclusively on original compositions.
Emil Kuyumcuyan works internationally as a percussionist and composer in the fields of multimedia performance and music theatre. His works are characterised by the combination of percussion, electronics and scenic elements. His musical identity is shaped by influences from contemporary classical music, jazz and Anatolian music.
Schimmer PR also represents Vanessa Porter as a solo percussionist.
