Schumann & Grieg piano concertos with Elisabeth Leonskaja and the Luzerner Sinfonieorchester under the baton of Michael Sanderling

When pianist Clara Schumann performed her husband’s A minor concerto around 1860, none other than the young Edvard Grieg sat in the audience – and was impressed. So much so that Grieg took up Robert Schumann’s ideas a few years later and created his own A minor Piano Concerto including them.

Award-winning pianist Elisabeth Leonskaja will be accompanied by chief conductor Michael Sanderling, a specialist in the Romantic era, and his Luzerner Sinfonieorchester.

On 17 January 2024, Elisabeth Leonskaja will perform Edvard Grieg’s Piano Concerto in A minor together with the Luzerner Sinfonieorchester under the direction of Michael Sanderling as part of the piano festival “Le Piano Symphonique” in Lucerne.
