‘Le Piano Symphonique’ 2026: World premieres, international stars and newcomers as guests at the ‘‘piano festival of the highest order’ * in Lucerne
The start to 2026 will be pianistic: from 12 to 18 January 2026, the Luzerner Sinfonieorchester invites to the fifth edition of its piano festival ‘Le Piano Symphonique’ on Lake Lucerne.
Alongside the artistic heart of the festival, Pianiste Associée Martha Argerich, international stars such as Hélène Grimaud, Maria João Pires, Alexandre Kantorow, Renaud Capuçon and Beatrice Rana will be performing – as well as of course the Luzerner Sinfonieorchester with their chief conductor Michael Sanderling, and for the very fist time also the conductors Christoph Eschenbach and Robin Ticciati.
The programme combines piano music in all aspects – from solo recitals to chamber music and symphonic evenings – complemented by a William Kentridge world premiere, debuts and a new collaboration with the Irving S. Gilmore International Piano Festival.
