A Former Schneiderhan-Stradivarius Awakened

The renowned ensemble Lucerne Festival Strings has been loaned yet another

instrument of the highest calibre, receiving the „Sellière“ Stradivarius, a violin in pristine condition considered to have been built before 1680.

Previous owners among others were virtuoso Carolina Ferni (1839–1926) and the renowned Austrian violinist and co-founder of Lucerne Festival Strings Wolfgang Schneiderhan (1915–2002).

In March 2019 the instrument shall be awakened and played by the artistic director of Lucerne Festival Strings, violinist Daniel Dodds, in two concert premieres with Festival Stings Luceren in Vienna (Konzerthaus, 5th of March) and Lucerne (KKL, 7th of March).
